It is a brand name for a nail product. It is a hybrid meaning half polish, half gel. It is strong, flexible and durable and has great shine. It is applied similar to nail polish but cured with a UV light.
WHO IS SHELLAC BEST SUITED FOR?
Anyone wanting to maintain their natural nail. The formulation looks good from day 1 to day 14 and appears not to damage the nail bed.
WHO IS IT NOT SUITED FOR?
Those wanting to lengthen their nails. Also those with damaged nail beds, splitting or peeling nails. If you have peeling nails, it will peel the Shellac off. You are best suited to having manicures to bring your nails back to health.
ARE DRILLS USED?
No. Removal of Shellac is by using specially designed pads soaked in acetone and wrapped around each nail and finger. These are left for 10mins then removed. Any Shellac remaining is then gently scrapped off nail without damaging the nail or nail bed.
HOW LONG DOES APPLICATION TAKE?
First application approx 30mins (without manicure) or 60mins (with manicure)
Refills approx 45mins (without manicure) or 75mins (with manicure)
As all the Shellac is removed during the refill process, you can change your colours every time you visit (colours available in salon).
CAN YOU DO FRENCH SHELLAC?
No this service is not offered at this salon.
HOW LONG DOES SHELLAC LAST FOR?
Usually 2 weeks before a refill is required but this depends upon each individual and their nail growth.
CAN YOU APPLY AT HOME?
No it is not recommended as the use of improper tools or techniques will give a less than desirable outcome.
WHAT IF I HAVE ACRYLIC NAILS?
Removal of these prior to coming to the salon is required. If you attend appointment with acrylics, your treatment cannot be performed.
